The photo quiz is too easy for you? Here's a different kind of educational challenge. Below are three clues for three different birds. Name the bird that fits the clue, keeping in mind that one clue may apply to multiple birds. Feel free to name them all or just one. No need to answer all at once either, you can answer each one separately and take your time if you prefer. Ready, set, go!
1. Namesake published the first catalogue of American fauna in 1771 (it listed 302 species of birds).
2. The Catharus with an onomatopeic name.
3. Namesake is the daughter of Spencer Fullerton Baird, a 19 century naturalist.
I’m on my way out the door, but I can name #2 off the top of my head: Veery
#1: Franklin’s Gull?
#3. Lucy’s or Virginia’s Warbler? All the Bairds were named after Baird himself.
#1 – Forster’s Tern
#2 – Veery
#3 – Lucy’s Warbler
1. Forester’s Tern
2. Veery
3. Lucy’s Warbler
Wow this was praticularly difficult
I researched for a long time, but in the end i’m going off mostly slightly educated guesses for #1 and #3
#1 Forster’s Tern or Franklin’s Gull
#2 Veery
#3 Lucy’s or Virginia’s Warbler
(simply because they could both be girls names and that’s the best guess i have)
1. Forster’s tern
2. Veery
3. Lucy’s warbler
