To start a new list, click or tap the button below. You may choose simply to enter a total in the “Count” column, and/or to fill out a detailed checklist with species and observation dates. If you check the box for “Checklist” (available only for areas/regions within the ABA Area), you will be taken to a separate screen to enter your observations. If you leave the box unchecked, you can always fill out a detailed list later.
Download your eBird life list for the corresponding area from this link, and upload the CSV file below.
NOTE: The eBird region designated “ABA Area” corresponds to the old ABA Area, i.e. the current ABA Continental region. In order to import your data for the full Area, you may need to export two separate lists from eBird: one for the ABA Area as defined there, and another for Hawaii.
If there are conflicts with your current list (species found on both lists), how should they be resolved?
This list should be private
Success! Notes updated.
Check the boxes for all species you’ve observed in this area, then click or tap Submit to save your list. To remove a species or add details like date or location, use the View/Edit Details mode instead.
Your list was successfully updated.
Choose an area or country, or create a new one if your big day country or area is not already listed. You can also choose a custom area, or create your own. Custom areas can be anything from a national park, multi-state or province region (such as Mid-Atlantic) to a local patch or city park. Note that if you choose United States or Canada, there are additional options that allow you to define your big day area.

Totals
Shared birds must constitute at least 95% of your total. Change the number of unshared birds to a maximum of 0 in order to proceed.
Enter the names of the Big day participants, and their individual totals. After the report is submitted, participants that are ABA members can “tag” themselves in your report, so that it also appears on their profile. Please do not forget to include yourself.
Step 4 | Enter Important Locations/Areas Visited
Begin typing to jump to a species, or choose from the pull-down menu. For each notable species entered, please choose a rarity code.
Using the WYSIWYG editor below, enter the details of your Big Day effort. Feel free to include images, links and tables. Please make sure that images are no more than 500 pixel wide, and no larger than 150K.
Thank you for your submission!
