Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023, the Wings Over Willcox Birding & Nature Festival is Arizona’s premiere winter birding festival. Each year, during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, birders and nature lovers gather in Willcox to take part in tours, attend seminars, and participate in the Nature Expo which includes live animals, nature-related vendors, informative exhibits, and activities for kids. Willcox is known as The Mecca for Wintering Sandhill Cranes, Raptors and Sparrows. More than 47,000 cranes were counted in southeastern Arizona last January.
