The 12th Welcome Migratory Birds Festival, under the theme “Restoring the Migratory Flyway,” is a completely free community event created by the community, for the community.

The Festival brings together approximately 100 artisans and local producers, as well as 38 NGOs, foundations, and environmental organizations, together with schools, universities, municipalities, government institutions, and private-sector partners.

The program includes talks on ecological restoration, wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, and environmental education, along with birdwatching activities, live music, cultural and artistic activities, archaeological tours, and community experiences for all ages. The Festival also features drawing and photography competitions, encouraging people to connect with birds and nature through both science and art.

Its main goal is to bring people closer to migratory birds and the ecosystems they depend on, while promoting conservation, restoration, environmental education, community participation, and a stronger connection with the natural and cultural heritage of the Mantagua Wetland.

The Festival is designed for a broad audience and welcomes children, families, students, researchers, birdwatchers, artists, local communities, and anyone interested in nature and conservation.
