Perfect for fans of our flying feathered friends, the 12th Laredo Birding Festival will take place February 7-10, 2024, offering four-days of excitement and a variety of full-day scenic trips for birders to take part in. Led by professional field guides, attendees will have the opportunity to deepen their avian knowledge of South Texas and explore areas along Laredo’s riverfront, creek systems, nature trails and private ranchland, some of which have never been birded before. With nearly 200 species of birds waiting to be spotted, birding enthusiasts will fall in love with Laredo and the captivating world of avifauna that the city is home to.

The 2024 festival will also feature vendor and art exhibits, a “Paint & Sip” covering bird art basics, and several guest speakers. Robert M. Peck will be the keynote speaker, telling the story of Louis Agassiz Fuertes and how the self-taught artist revolutionized wildlife art and popularized bird watching in the early twentieth century. The guest speakers include Cin-Ty Lee, an author of numerous articles on challenging bird identifications, and Christina Baal, the artist hosting the “Paint & Sip” class.
