The year is off to a great start, and there are lots of birds to see in the months to come! The ABA is offering a variety of exciting camps for young birders which I recommend taking a peek at. The ABA will be offering full and partial scholarships to help enthusiastic, avid young birders take advantage of these wonderful opportunities. From personal experience, the friends you meet at these events will remain lifelong contacts and the knowledge you gain will be invaluable. The camps offered include: National Audubon Society and Project Puffin’s Hog Island Teen Ornithology Camp in coastal Maine, ABA Young Birder Camp Colorado led by Michael O’Brien and Louise Zemaitis, Victor Emanual Nature Tours’ Camp Chiricahua in southeast Arizona, and Seattle Audubon Society’s Cascades Bird Banding Camp. Dates range from June to August.
