Central America is home to five great tropical forests, whose presence and protection are critical to the conservation of just about every neotropical migrant bird breeding in the East. This forest network is the subject of a recent study from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the Wildlife Conservation Society published last month in the journal Biological Conservation. Anna Lello-Smith, a bird conservation scientist from the Wildlife Conservation Society, is the lead author of the paper, and she joins us to talk about what the network means for bird conservation.
