ABA 2008 Regional Conference – Vancouver/Victoria, BC

30 August – 6 September 2008

Click Here For More Information >

When you have two cities as beckoning as Vancouver and Victoria, how do you make a choice between the two? We opted to try something different for this conference, so we don't have to pick just one! We will start in Vancouver and visit the best birding spots on the mainland side for the first three days. Our ferry ride across the Strait of Georgia will be our "hands-on' workshop, enjoying the seabirds swimming and flying by. The next three days we will be exploring the wonders of Vancouver Island, based out of charming Victoria. Pre and post trips will be available, or just come early and stay late to take in the warm hospitality and excitement of British Columbia on both sides! Look for details in the March/April Winging It, but start saving now!

ABA 2009 Annual Convention – Corpus Christi, TX

27 April – 3 May 2009

We are celebrating our 40th Anniversary with a big birding bash! Not only did we select “America’s birdiest city” for our celebration, but we plan on seeing almost half of the breeding birds in the United States during our field trips! With field trips to the best of the central Texas Coast, in the height of migration, we are sure to boost your life list! Fabulous pre and post trips to the Hill Country, Upper Texas Coast, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley. It could be the birdiest event ever for ABA! Join us in Corpus Christi from 27 April to 3 May, 2009 at the wonderful Omni Bayfront Hotel, overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and all the migrants that follow its coast.

ABA 2009 Regional Conference – Minot, ND

14-19 June 2009

If Upland Sandpiper, Sprague’s Pipit, Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow, LeConte’s Sparrow, Baird’s Sparrow, and Chestnut-collared Longspur are not on your life list, you need to join us in Minot! Not only does North Dakota offer the sweeping prairies we all think of, but there are wonderful prairie wetlands, mature oak woodlands, rugged badlands, and montane forests with Ponderosa Pines and aspen. With the diverse ecosystems all within a short distance from Minot, we knew the answer to the age-old question: Why not Minot? Keep the dates of 14-19 June 2009 open to enjoy the beauty of the prairie and the bounty of birds it holds.
