MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

There are several categories of ABA membership, based on the level of support. We also offer subscription-only memberships, and gift memberships. (Canadian memberships are slightly higher than US and include GST, which is paid to the Canadian government.)

• INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP (US $45.00 / Canadian & International $55.00)
  This is the basic classification and includes a subscription to both Birding and Winging It. Individual members may vote in all ABA general election and receive a proxy ballot prior to the general membership meetings. Members also receive copies of the Big Day Report. A year's ABA membership runs for the next six issues of Birding rather than for a calendar year. If your membership lapses, it will be reported with the most current issue of the magazine or newsletter unless you request otherwise.

• JOINT MEMBERSHIP (US $52.00 / Canadian & International $63.00)
  This membership category is the same as the above except that it offers two votes instead of one at ABA general elections.

• STUDENT MEMBERSHIP (US $25.00 / Canadian & International $35.00)
  This membership category is available to full-time students that are 23 years of age or younger only. Membership includes all the benefits of ABA membership plus a subscription to A Bird's-Eye View. We'll be the binoculars in your hands, the field guide in your pocket, and the friend by your side. As part of our efforts to create and support young birders, we offer student memberships which are supported by the Joseph W. Taylor Memorial/Education Fund and by corporate sponsorships.

• LIBRARIES (US $60.00/$70.00 Canadian & International)
  This includes a subscription to all ABA publications (Birding, Winging It, and the List Supplement), but does not include voting privileges at ABA general membership meetings, nor attendance at ABA conferences and conventions.

Membership dues in the above categories are not tax deductible. Disclaimer: The American Birding Association reserves the right to change its dues at any time without notice.

• CENTURY CLUB DONOR LEVELS
  The Century Club levels below are tax-deductible contributions and do not include the basic membership dues.
  • Hooded Merganser ($100)
  • Mountain Plover ($300)
  • Violet-crowned Hummingbird ($500)
  • Painted Bunting ($1,000)
  • White-throated Swift ($2,500)

• GIFT MEMBERSHIPS

  Gift memberships can be arranged for any ABA membership category. We send a letter to the gift giver and the recipient.
